Look! An Update!

Sorry for the lengthy silence. Andrew has been lost in the wilderness of Colorado for the last few weeks, and Lora's only just now found him. He managed to accidentally take this selfie while suffering from heat exhaustion.

Kidding, of course! He and Lora were out exploring the Garden of the Gods, one of the many beautiful parks here in Colorado. It was fair crowded at the entrance, but after just a short walk away, we found the trails to be almost empty. We even found some stacks of rocks! See?

Who doesn't love some good rocks? But, that's probably not why you're here. You want to know about our little Bing Bong. Well, things are good. It's a baby, with all of the baby things, like a head, arms, legs, and organs! Bing Bong is much more person shaped than in previous weeks.

Yes, we're still resorting to taking pictures of print outs from the doctor. We can't get them in digital, and we love our doctor too much to switch just for more easily shareable photos. Anyway, at last check, the baby was looking healthy. Pretty much everything the technician wanted to see was there, but Bing Bong was a bit on the smaller side. Aside from being a potential boon to Lora, we were told it isn't a concern as long as we see an upward trend in growth, and that has been the case thus far. Also, Lora's "morning" sickness has almost completely disappeared. She is only feeling a bit barfy, as she puts it, once in a while.

That growing baby hasn't stopped Lora from getting out and having some completely safe-for-pregnancy fun, while Andrew continues to show a lack of sympathy by consuming beer in her presence. At least when there is good music, it is easy to forget about delicious, frosty beverages, and there has been no shortage of good music!

Above, you'll see Lora and Andrew each catching one of their favorite bands. Lora, a reasonable adult with sophisticated musical tastes, wanted to see the chill, surfer band Cayucos. They are a treat and you should really check them out. She and Andrew even wore their most tropical outfits, despite being the only people lame enough to do so at the show.

In blue, you'll see us catching one of Andrew's favorites. Being mentally stuck in the late 90s, he took Lora to see Streetlight Manifesto, a ska band. Yes, a ska band. Don't worry, he left his wallet chain and Vans at home. Either way, the show ended up being a blast, and if you've never seen a ska band in the wild, you can see just how many people they can cram on stage.

Lora and Andrew have been up in the mountains as well. They have even made new woodland friends.

The chipmunks at Rocky Mountain National Park are some of the bravest little jerks known to man! While hiking the beautiful trails around Cub Lake, the two stopped for a picnic lunch, and were quickly beset by the beast seen above! Frequent shouts and swats were no deterrent, but eventually, the little bugger moved on to an easier meal. Andrew and Lora did, as well.

We're coming to find that babies apparently need a lot of crap. If you'd like to give BB and us something we probably didn't even know we needed, here is the Amazon registry (we'll add more soon):

We'll be making the drive to Ohio in September. Hope to see as many as you as we can then!

  1. Great update Andrew! We will leave OH on the 12th and hope to see you as we pass thru CO.
We've been catching a few concerts at the Fraze, but no SKA bands!
