Happy Fall!
We started off September with our road trip to Ohio for our baby shower with some stops along the way. We stayed a couple nights in middle of nowhere Missouri for some relaxing time by a river, visited Onandaga State Park where we went on a cave tour, and kayaking down the Maramac river. For a change of pace, I read on the porch while Andrew napped and tried to find internet connection to play his video game.
If you can't tell, this is a pic of Andrew's baby bubble booty and current bubble booty.
It's difficult and rare to get this much of the family together - just missing Dad and Danny. But we have trouble keeping our eyes open and Will to keep his shirt on.
Excited to add to this group of cuties (Will, 2, Henry, almost 5, Ella, 7 and Danny, almost 2)
Our trip ended with an 17hr+ drive back in one day! We survived and got to work the next morning.
I am nearly 30 weeks preggo. Strangers feel the need to tell me I don't look as pregnant as I am but, I swear, I'm not lying. BB is still on the smaller side but with extra ultrasounds to triple check, we have been assured there is nothing to worry about. My blood pressure is looking good, I'm measuring correctly and the test for gestational diabetes recently came back negative. Hoping the last 10 weeks will give us the same good health.
The desire to fall asleep before 10pm is still new to me but I'm still going to crossfit class 4-5 times per week. Running is not very comfortable anymore but, otherwise, I'm only needing slight modifications at the gym. I'm hoping that keeping up with my fitness now will pay off in recovery after birth. Marriage gave me some extra pounds I wasn't so happy with before I got pregnant. Because I lost quite a bit of weight in my first 20 weeks against my will, I am projected to be around the same weight I started at by the time BB gets here. Moving to Colorado has given Andrew and me a new perspective and focus on health and balance.
Andrew has been the most supportive and loving partner I could ever ask for during this pregnancy (good job Terri and Scott). Dinner is usually ready for me when I get home from the gym and he is always there with plenty of cuddles when my mood is taken over by wacky hormones. Watching him become a Dad is one of the greatest privileges of my life and I can't wait to witness him hold our baby for the first time. I'm preparing myself to be the less cool parent.
Andrew is having his "man baby shower" in a couple weeks - like a bachelor party for the baby occasion. It's really an excuse to play games all day and drink a bunch of beer and eat junk food. Well deserved.
Let us know if you have the opportunity to come visit especially next year to meet little BB.

Altho the family fotos did not come thru, it's a great blog. 17hrs on the road?, that's a lot of drive time in one day!
ReplyDeleteMake sure to show Aunt Fran the pics now that it's not all screwed up :)
